HCAH Launches Cutting-Edge Robotics Lab in Telangana on World Stroke Day
On World Stroke Day, HCAH SuVitas launched the Center for Advanced Robotics and Recovery in Telangana, aiming to significantly enhance stroke and neuro rehabilitation through the use of robotics and artificial intelligence. This initiative is designed to address the pressing rehabilitation gap in India, where the current number of rehabilitation centers is insufficient for the country’s vast population.
The new center in Hyderabad symbolizes a pivotal advancement in stroke and neuro rehabilitation, reinforcing HCAH’s commitment to delivering accelerated recovery options across India. With only 1,251 stroke rehabilitation centers available for a population of approximately 1.46 billion, there is roughly one center for every 1.17 million people. This stark statistic highlights the urgent need for structured and technology-driven recovery care.
Dr. Gaurav Thukral, Co-Founder and President of HCAH India, emphasized the critical nature of the initial recovery phase, stating that the first 90 days following a stroke or major surgery are crucial for patient outcomes. The integration of robotics and AI into rehabilitation processes is expected to enhance recovery speeds and effectiveness.
The center’s services include robotic-assisted therapy, which Dr. BSV Raju, a Senior Consultant Neuro & Spine Surgeon, noted provides clinicians the capability to facilitate hundreds of precise movements during therapy sessions. This innovative approach is aimed at optimizing patient recovery journeys and improving overall rehabilitation experiences.
HCAH’s commitment does not stop in Telangana; the organization plans to expand its Robotics & Recovery Labs to other major Indian cities, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. By leveraging advanced technology and a holistic approach that combines scientific data with compassionate care, HCAH is poised to make a substantial impact on stroke recovery across the nation.
As the healthcare landscape evolves, the introduction of facilities like the Center for Advanced Robotics and Recovery marks a significant step towards providing more accessible and effective rehabilitation solutions in India.
