JNKVV Scholars Win Four Young Scientist Awards for Agri Research
Four researchers from the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (JNKVV) in Jabalpur have been honored with the 41st Young Scientist Award for their contributions to agricultural research. The awards were presented at a ceremony organized by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST) in Bhopal, highlighting the achievements of scholars competing against over 700 research papers from across India.
The recognition of these researchers underscores the significant advancements in agricultural practices and technologies emerging from the region. Among the awardees, Shalini Chaturvedi received the first prize of Rs 25,000 for her work in the ‘Farm Machinery and Power’ category. Her PhD research, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Atul Kumar Srivastava, addressed critical issues in agricultural engineering.
In the same event, Muskan Jain was awarded the second prize of Rs 20,000 in the ‘Post-Harvest and Food Engineering’ category. Her research, guided by Dr. Preeti Jain, focused on innovative techniques for improving food preservation and reducing waste.
Additionally, Dr. Ayushi Soni and Dr. Nishi Mishra both secured third prizes, each receiving Rs 15,000 for their respective research projects. Dr. Soni, specializing in Genetics and Plant Breeding, conducted her research under the supervision of Dr. Stuti Sharma, while Dr. Mishra, whose expertise lies in Biotechnology, was guided by Dr. Sharad Tiwari.
The awards not only celebrate individual achievements but also reflect the growing emphasis on research and innovation in agriculture within India. The recognition of these talented scholars serves as an inspiration for future researchers in the field, encouraging the pursuit of knowledge and exploration of new frontiers in agricultural science.
As the agricultural landscape continues to evolve, the contributions of institutions like JNKVV play a vital role in addressing the challenges faced by the sector, ultimately benefiting farmers and consumers alike.
