Darakhshan Andrabi Reviews Preparations for Laylat-ul-Qadr and Eid
Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, recently conducted a thorough review of the arrangements at various shrines in the region in anticipation of the upcoming religious observances of Laylat-ul-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr. This assessment aimed to ensure that all necessary preparations are in place to accommodate the influx of visitors during these significant occasions.
During her visit, which took place on March 30, 2024, Andrabi emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and providing adequate facilities for attendees. She stressed that the shrines, which attract thousands of devotees, must be well-equipped to handle the increased foot traffic and ensure a comfortable experience for all.
Enhancements for Devotees
Andrabi highlighted several enhancements being made across the shrines, including improved lighting, sanitation facilities, and security measures. She noted that these initiatives are particularly crucial during Laylat-ul-Qadr, which is observed on the 27th night of Ramadan, as it holds great significance for Muslims worldwide.
The preparations aim not only to facilitate worship but also to create an environment conducive to reflection and community gathering. The Waqf Board has allocated additional resources to ensure that services such as food distribution and medical assistance are available for those who require them during the observances.
Community Engagement and Support
The feedback from local communities has been overwhelmingly supportive of the Waqf Board’s initiatives. Many residents expressed their gratitude for the efforts being made to enhance the experience at these sacred sites. “The arrangements are pivotal for us, especially during such important times,” said a local community leader.
Andrabi concluded her visit by urging volunteers and staff to remain vigilant and committed to their roles in ensuring that both Laylat-ul-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr are celebrated in a respectful and orderly manner. She reaffirmed the Waqf Board’s dedication to serving the spiritual needs of the community and fostering a sense of unity during these holy days.
As the dates approach, preparations will continue to be fine-tuned to ensure that the shrines are ready to welcome the thousands who are expected to visit for prayer and celebration. The Waqf Board remains focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere, highlighting the significance of these observances in the cultural fabric of Jammu and Kashmir.
