Short Film Triumphs at Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge

Hyderabad recently hosted the Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge, where Itukala Ramesh Yadav’s short film, Sarassu Gnapakalu, was awarded the title of best short film. The competition focused on creative works that highlight welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government, showcasing the talents of young filmmakers in the region.

The runner-up position went to another notable short film, Sontha Illu, with Atma Gouravam securing third place. The event also recognized several other films with consolation prizes, including Kalakarudu, Nightingale on Wheels, Varasudu, and Praja Prabhutvam. Special jury prizes were awarded to God ela brathakali and Son of Chukka Ramulu for their outstanding contributions.

In the music category, Bathukamma by Darpalli Sai Kumar was named the best video song, followed by Bathukamma Samburam and Akasham anchulu daati. Consolation prizes were given to Ramanna uyyalo and Drugs paina prathigna, emphasizing the variety and talent present in this year’s submissions.

The awards ceremony featured prominent figures, including ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, as well as Dil Raju, the chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation. They presented prizes and certificates to the winners, celebrating the creativity and hard work of emerging filmmakers.
