A tragic accident in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, claimed the lives of three individuals, including a father and his son, on February 18, 2024. The incident occurred when a speeding car lost control, collided with a tree, and overturned on the Deeh-Parshadepur road.

Victims of the accident have been identified as Mukesh (50) and his son Kunal (20), both hailing from Bulandshahr. The third deceased was Ramu Thakur (24), Mukesh’s brother-in-law from Aligarh. The group was travelling to Sangipur in the neighbouring Pratapgarh district to attend a wedding scheduled for Thursday.

According to local police, the trio had arrived in Raebareli by train and were picked up from the railway station by Chandan Mishra, a resident of Sangipur, along with another individual named Abhishek. As they made their way towards Sangipur, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash.

Both Chandan and Abhishek sustained serious injuries in the accident and were transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Deeh. Due to the critical nature of their injuries, they were later referred to a district hospital for further medical treatment.

Yaduvendra Pal Singh, the Circle Officer of Salon, confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations. He also indicated that an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway.

This incident underscores the ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the region, particularly involving speeding vehicles. As authorities continue their investigation, the community mourns the loss of three lives tragically cut short.
