The Delhi Police has successfully dismantled a significant interstate drug supply network, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of narcotics valued at over Rs 2 crore. The operation took place on February 21, 2024, following specific intelligence regarding drug trafficking activities in the region.

Details of the Operation

The accused have been identified as Sarthak Tyagi, aged 30, from Moti Nagar, and Kulpreet Singh, also known as Sunny, aged 29, from Ashok Vihar. A senior police officer stated that the raid at Tyagi’s residence was executed based on credible information about ongoing drug-related crimes. Tyagi was apprehended in his room during the operation.

During the raid, law enforcement officials discovered a variety of narcotic and psychotropic substances. The recovered items included 1.016 kg of marijuana, 1.112 kg of charas, 17 grams of MDMA, 1 gram of ecstasy tablets, and 4 grams of psychedelic mushrooms.

Interrogation of Tyagi revealed his involvement in procuring and distributing these drugs through an interstate network. His disclosures led the police to identify and arrest Singh, who is suspected of being a key supplier within this network.

Legal Consequences and Ongoing Investigation

A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover additional members of the drug supply chain.

Police records indicate that Tyagi has prior criminal involvement in two cases filed at the Moti Nagar police station, including one related to an attempted murder. Additionally, the police are verifying Singh’s potential connection to another narcotics case in Mandi.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Delhi Police to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety. The seizure of such a substantial quantity of narcotics is a significant step in disrupting the drug supply network operating within the region. Further updates are expected as investigations progress.
