Rogi Kalyan Samiti Approves $1.1 Million Budget for 2026-27
The governing body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Zonal Hospital in Mandi has approved a budget of approximately Rs 1.1 crore (around $132,000) for the financial year 2026-27. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan on March 14, 2024. The approved budget aims to enhance patient care services and improve facilities within the hospital.
The meeting highlighted several key initiatives focused on strengthening healthcare delivery. A primary objective is to improve the infrastructure of special wards, ensuring they meet the needs of patients more effectively. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of providing accessible and patient-friendly healthcare services at the hospital.
To promote these services, the hospital’s ambulance service, which operates at a nominal rate of Rs 12 per kilometer, will be publicized more widely. This initiative is expected to improve access for patients requiring transportation.
In terms of financial allocations, the budget dedicates Rs 35 lakh for staff salaries, ensuring adequate compensation for healthcare professionals. Furthermore, Rs 40 lakh will be allocated for laboratory reagents and essential equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound machines.
Additional funding includes Rs 2 lakh for the repair of motorized beds, Rs 15 lakh for essential medicines, and Rs 5 lakh for the purchase of an audiometry machine. These investments are aimed at improving the overall quality of care and ensuring that the hospital can meet the increasing demands of its patient population.
The emphasis on enhancing facilities and services reflects a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in the region. The initiatives outlined in the budget approval signify a proactive approach to addressing the needs of the community and ensuring that high standards of care are maintained at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Zonal Hospital.
