Bihar to Hire 46,000 Teachers in Major Recruitment Drive
The Bihar government is set to initiate a significant recruitment drive for teachers, offering approximately 46,000 positions in the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination, known as TRE 4. This move aims to fill long-standing vacancies in government schools across the state, providing aspiring educators with a substantial opportunity for employment.
Applications for these positions will commence in March 2024, with the official notification expected to be released in the same month. The initiative is part of a concerted effort to enhance the education system in Bihar by addressing the shortage of qualified teachers.
Details on Vacancies and Recruitment Process
The state’s General Administration Department has submitted a requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to facilitate the appointment process. According to the Education Department, there are currently 44,500 vacant posts for teachers across various classes, ranging from Class 1 to Class 12. The vacancies are distributed as follows:
– Classes 1 to 5
– Classes 6 to 8
– Classes 9 to 10
– Classes 11 to 12
In addition to these teaching positions, the recruitment will also encompass roles for headmasters and principals, ensuring comprehensive staffing across educational institutions.
Inclusion of Welfare Departments
The recruitment initiative extends beyond the Education Department. The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department will also be hiring teachers and headmasters for Classes 1 to 12. Additionally, the Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Department will conduct recruitment for Classes 6 to 12, including teaching and headmaster positions.
This expansive hiring effort is anticipated to bolster the educational framework in Bihar, effectively addressing the pressing need for qualified teachers in state-run schools. By filling these roles, the government aims to enhance the quality of education and support the academic growth of students across the region.
The upcoming recruitment drive is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Bihar’s education system, providing new opportunities for both aspiring teachers and students.
