AI Impact Summit Kicks Off in Delhi with Global Leaders

The AI Impact Summit commenced in New Delhi on Monday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcoming global leaders, industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to engage in discussions about the future of Artificial Intelligence. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam, aims to foster collaboration and innovation in AI, reflecting the theme of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya,” which translates to welfare and happiness for all.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the transformative potential of AI across various sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, and governance. He stated, “AI today is transforming several sectors… The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more.” Modi expressed confidence that the summit’s outcomes would help shape a future that is both progressive and opportunity-driven.

India’s role in the AI landscape is significant, as Modi highlighted the contributions of the nation’s 1.4 billion people. He noted, “Thanks to the 1.4 billion people of India, our nation stands at the forefront of the AI transformation. From digital public infrastructure to a vibrant startup ecosystem and cutting-edge research, our strides in AI reflect both ambition and responsibility.”

The summit will feature the inaugural India AI Impact Expo 2026, taking place from February 16 to 20, 2026, at the same venue. The expo will span over 70,000 square meters and include participation from global technology firms, startups, academic institutions, and international partners.

Expo Highlights and Global Participation

The event will showcase 13 country pavilions, highlighting international collaboration within the AI ecosystem. Participating countries include Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and several nations from Africa.

With over 300 curated exhibition pavilions, the expo will feature live demonstrations structured around three thematic areas: People, Planet, and Progress. More than 600 high-potential startups are expected to participate, showcasing innovative solutions already deployed in real-world settings.

The India AI Impact Expo 2026 anticipates over 250,000 visitors, including international delegates, and aims to foster new partnerships and business opportunities within the global AI ecosystem. More than 500 sessions will be organized, featuring over 3,250 visionary speakers and panel members, focusing on the transformative impact of AI across various sectors.

According to an official statement, “The Expo will serve as a national demonstration of AI in action, where policy meets practice, innovation meets scale, and technology meets the everyday citizen.”

As the summit progresses, discussions will cover critical topics aimed at ensuring that AI benefits all global citizens, reflecting a commitment to harnessing technology for human-centric progress.
