Jammu and Kashmir Dismisses Three Workers for Alleged Anti-national Activities

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed three workers from the Jal Shakti Department due to their alleged involvement in “anti-national and subversive activities.” This decision, confirmed by government officials, was announced on Tuesday.

Among the dismissed individuals, two were from Kishtwar district in Jammu, while the third was from Anantnag district in southern Kashmir. The employees were identified as Liyaqat Ali Bhagwan from Bhagwan Mohalla Huller and Kousar Hussain Bhagwan, son of Mohammad Akbar Bhagwan, also from Hunjala in Kishtwar. The third worker, Showkat Ahmad Zargar, resided in Iqbal Mohalla Bijbehara in Anantnag.

The dismissal order was issued by Shaleen Kabra, the financial commissioner of the Jal Shakti Department. Liyaqat Ali Bhagwan was employed as a need-based casual labourer, stationed at Berwar in Kishtwar. Kousar Hussain Bhagwan held a similar position at Huller under the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Sub-Division in Kishtwar. Showkat Ahmad Zargar worked as a daily-rated wager in Bijbehara.

This action reflects ongoing efforts by the local government to address concerns regarding loyalty and security within public service sectors in the region.
