Delhi Celebrates Republic Day, Highlights Ayushman Bharat Success

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Republic Day that the Ayushman Bharat health scheme has seen significant uptake, with 6.5 lakh people registering since its launch. The scheme, which provides life insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh to beneficiaries, was implemented in the national capital on the first day of the current BJP government’s term.

During the Republic Day celebrations at Chhatrasal Stadium, Gupta emphasized the importance of Ayushman Bharat, describing it as the largest health initiative both in India and globally. In her address to the gathering, she noted, “Ayushman Bharat was implemented in Delhi on the very first day of our government’s formation. Today, 6.5 lakh people have registered under this scheme, which provides life insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh to the beneficiaries.”

Gupta reflected on the last eleven months since the BJP took charge in Delhi, asserting that her administration has made several critical decisions aimed at enhancing public welfare. She acknowledged the challenges faced, particularly the systemic issues that had developed over the years. “When our government took charge of Delhi eleven months ago, we faced numerous challenges, but the biggest challenge was the dust and obstacles that had accumulated on the system over the years,” she stated. “We have taken several meaningful steps to change this situation and give Delhi a new direction.”

The Chief Minister highlighted the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a foundation for the decisions made during her administration. Gupta expressed her commitment to achieving genuine improvements in the lives of Delhi’s citizens.

In addition to discussing the health scheme, Gupta paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. “I pay homage to those martyrs who prioritized the nation above even their own lives for the honour of the tricolour and bequeathed us this republic, self-respect, and freedom,” she remarked. She further emphasized the significance of the Constitution, stating, “The Constitution is the soul of India. Over the past 77 years, India’s Constitution has guided us as a beacon of light for justice, equality, and dignity.”

Gupta’s remarks during the Republic Day celebrations underscored both the achievements of her government and the ongoing commitment to improving healthcare and public welfare in Delhi. As she reviewed the parade at Chhatrasal Stadium, her administration’s focus on positive change resonated with the audience, marking a day of national pride and reflection.
