Raghav Jhunjhunwala Achieves Fourth Rank in UPSC Civil Services Exam
Raghav Jhunjhunwala has secured the fourth rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, attributing his success to the unwavering support of his parents, teachers, and his dedication to hard work. This achievement was announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday, which revealed that a total of 958 candidates qualified for the examination and are recommended for various central civil services.
Residing in Muzaffarpur, a city in the Bihar region of India, Raghav achieved this milestone on his third attempt at the UPSC examination. He is an alumnus of Delhi University, where he graduated with a degree in economics. In his earlier attempts, Raghav successfully cleared the preliminary examination in his first try and progressed to the personality test in his second attempt, although he did not qualify.
Raghav’s Journey to Success
“This was my third attempt at the UPSC CSE. I completed my early schooling in Muzaffarpur before moving to Delhi for higher studies,” Raghav shared with reporters following the announcement. His dedication was evident, as he studied between 12 to 14 hours daily in preparation for the examination.
Raghav’s family has played a pivotal role in his educational journey. After completing his schooling at Delhi Public School, he finished Class 12 at GD Mother School in Muzaffarpur, where he was recognized as the CBSE Bihar topper. His maternal uncle, Arun Kumar, noted that Raghav began his preparation for the UPSC examination in 2022, the same year he graduated with honours in economics.
Balancing Studies and Hobbies
Despite his rigorous study schedule, Raghav maintains a balance between academics and personal interests. In addition to his studies, he enjoys photography and playing badminton, which provides a well-rounded approach to his life as a student and aspiring civil servant. Arun Kumar remarked on Raghav’s academic prowess, stating, “He has been academically bright since childhood and has remained focused on his goal of joining the civil services.”
Raghav’s story serves as an inspiring example of perseverance and dedication, showcasing how systematic hard work, combined with the support of family and educators, can lead to significant accomplishments. As he prepares for the next chapter of his career in public service, his achievement in the UPSC examination is a testament to the potential of determined individuals in the face of challenges.
