Free Limb and Caliper Camp in Bengaluru Aims to Empower 640 Divyangjans

Narayan Seva Sansthan is set to host a free artificial limb and caliper fitment camp in Bengaluru on March 1, 2024, aimed at assisting 640 Divyangjans in regaining mobility and independence. This initiative, conducted in partnership with CSR collaborators General Motors, TTP Technologies, and ACI Worldwide, will take place at Mahaveer Dharamshala in V.V. Puram, Basavanagudi, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with an official inauguration at 11:00 am.

The camp is anticipated to be one of the largest rehabilitation efforts of its kind in South India. Approximately 550 individuals will receive advanced Narayan artificial limbs, while nearly 50 will be fitted with calipers designed to address mobility challenges. All beneficiaries were pre-selected during a measurement camp held on December 14, 2023, ensuring that the fitment process aligns with their specific needs.

Expert doctors and trained technicians will supervise the fitting to guarantee proper alignment, comfort, and functionality for each participant. Beyond the provision of these assistive devices, beneficiaries will also undergo specialized training. This training will cover essential techniques for walking, maintaining balance, and the effective use of limbs and calipers. The goal is to empower Divyangjans to lead more independent and self-reliant lives, facilitating their integration into education, employment, and society at large.

Palak Agarwal, Director of Narayan Seva Sansthan, highlighted that the organization’s mission extends beyond merely providing medical assistance. She emphasized the importance of empowering Divyangjans to live with dignity and confidence. “Such camps are crucial for restoring mobility and enhancing the overall quality of life for our beneficiaries,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, explained that Bengaluru was chosen as the venue due to the increasing demand for rehabilitation services in South India. He noted that this camp is a testament to the organization’s commitment to reach deserving individuals and aid their social reintegration.

The event will also recognize CSR partners, donors, and social workers who contribute to the cause. Attendees will benefit from arrangements that include free meals, seating, and primary medical support for both beneficiaries and their families.

Founded in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has played a pivotal role in humanitarian service, providing over 39,000 artificial limbs and free medical treatment to more than 450,000 Divyangjans worldwide. This upcoming camp further reaffirms the organization’s ongoing dedication to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
