Discover Bangkok’s Top Menswear Spots for Stylish Shopping

Bangkok has emerged as a premier shopping destination for men’s fashion, drawing Singaporeans looking for stylish options. Just a short flight of under three hours from Singapore, the city offers a vibrant retail landscape filled with mega malls like Icon Siam and CentralWorld, as well as trendy neighborhoods such as Thonglor and Ekkamai. Fashion stylist and creative consultant Daryll Alexius Yeo highlights the city’s diverse offering, noting that the selection of menswear is “more diverse and daring compared to what’s available in Singapore.”

For those seeking tailored suits or unique pieces to elevate their wardrobe, Bangkok does not disappoint. Yeo, who visits the city biannually, points out two key aspects of menswear shopping in Bangkok. “On one hand, there’s the traditional tailoring scene. Bangkok has a long-standing reputation for custom suiting that’s both affordable and well-crafted. On the other hand, there’s a growing ecosystem of Thai menswear designer labels offering trend-driven pieces.”

The appeal of Bangkok extends beyond its variety. Donson Chan, fashion stylist and co-founder of creative studio Fakedcandid, mentions that one of the main attractions for Singaporeans is the availability of Asian-friendly sizing. “The shorts and pants, for example, sit at the right length so you can buy off the rack without any alteration required,” Chan explains. This advantage, combined with competitive prices for tailored office wear, makes Bangkok an attractive option for many.

While the sizes tend to be more accommodating for Asian body types, Chan advises shoppers to try on items before purchasing, as local sizes may run smaller than those typically found in Singapore. The similarities in weather between the two cities also allow for breathable designs that cater to comfort in humid conditions. Tok Wei Lun, fashion and creative director, appreciates the lightweight yet sharp designs available in Bangkok. “I like to go when there’s a mix of fresh collections in stores too, so it’s perfect for finding something new,” he shares.

Exploring beyond the major shopping centres reveals even more gems. Yeo encourages curiosity in discovering lesser-known brands. He describes Thonglor, Ari, and Ekkamai as some of the most exciting fashion districts in Bangkok. “You’ll find the best gems when you wander off the main malls and explore smaller boutiques or pop-ups in the neighbourhoods,” he advises.

For those eager to delve into Bangkok’s menswear scene, Yeo and Chan recommend several standout labels worth exploring.
