US Signals Potential Tariff Relief for India; Bangladesh Excluded from T20 World Cup
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated on March 15, 2024, the possibility of lifting the additional 25 percent tariffs imposed on Indian goods. This announcement comes as a result of a significant decrease in India’s imports of Russian oil. In recent months, India’s oil imports from Russia have sharply diminished, suggesting a shift in trade dynamics that could favor Indian exporters.
In a separate development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that Bangladesh will not participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup. According to sources, Scotland has been designated as Bangladesh’s replacement in the tournament. Although Cricket Scotland has yet to receive official notification, it is anticipated that confirmation will arrive shortly.
In Telangana, alarming reports have emerged regarding the ongoing culling of stray dogs, with activists claiming that around 900 dogs have been killed. This includes a recent incident in Jagtial District, where approximately 300 dogs were reportedly culled. Animal rights activists have raised concerns over the methods used and the implications for animal welfare in the region.

This change follows six years of administration without elected leaders, marking a significant shift in the city’s governance structure.
