Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved investment proposals totaling ₹44,241 crore across ten significant projects in eight districts. This decision, made during the 44th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), aims to enhance the state’s industrial landscape and create approximately 8,765 jobs. The focus of these investments lies in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and semiconductor-related infrastructure.
A considerable portion of the funding is allocated to renewable energy projects, particularly in pumped-storage hydropower. These initiatives aim to improve grid stability and facilitate the integration of green energy on a larger scale. Four notable projects received approval, including an investment of ₹9,731.47 crore from Adani Hydro Energy Twelve Ltd in Nayagarh. The Sangamam CD Hydro Consortium has proposed an investment of ₹9,000 crore in Koraput, while Greenko OR01 IREP Pvt Ltd will invest ₹7,506.94 crore in Kalahandi. Another significant project in Khordha is the proposed ₹1,050 crore integrated high-performance magnet manufacturing unit by Magnova Private Ltd. This venture aims to enhance Odisha’s capabilities in advanced materials and rare earth applications, both crucial for clean energy and electronics.
Expanding its industrial portfolio further, Bharat Forge Ltd has proposed a ₹3,000 crore facility in Dhenkanal to manufacture components for the automotive, aerospace, and defence sectors. This project is expected to generate another 1,000 jobs, reinforcing Odisha’s ambitions in high-value engineering.
In southern Odisha, NCL Industries Ltd will invest ₹2,000 crore in Koraput, while Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd plans to establish an integrated cement plant in Malkangiri, also with an investment of ₹2,000 crore. Together, these initiatives are projected to create approximately 2,000 jobs and promote industrial growth in the region.
Further strengthening Odisha’s digital infrastructure, Shreetech Data Limited-CLS will invest ₹1,622 crore to develop a cable landing station in Puri. This project aims to enhance telecom and digital connectivity along the eastern coast, addressing the state’s rising data and connectivity requirements.
