Dilip Saikia Launches 15-Km Road Project in Darrang District

Dilip Saikia, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam, formally initiated the reconstruction and development of a significant 15-kilometre road project in the Darrang district on March 15, 2024. The project, which connects Naharbari to Namkhola within the Sipajhar Assembly Constituency, is set to enhance the infrastructure of the region, which lies along the border of Darrang and Udalguri districts.

The foundation stone was laid during a public event held at the Deomornoi Higher Secondary School. This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve transportation networks in the area, with a total estimated cost of Rs 43 crore 77 lakh under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme for the fiscal year 2024-25.

In his address to the gathered crowd, Saikia emphasized the commitment of the BJP-led Central government towards the comprehensive development of the Northeast region. He pointed out that the allocation of funds for this road project exemplifies the government’s ongoing support and dedication to infrastructural advancements in this part of India.
