COL Group has joined forces with US-listed BeLive Holdings to introduce the first fully integrated “Microdrama in a Box” solution at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART 2026). This innovative offering combines enterprise-grade Software as a Service (SaaS) infrastructure with access to the world’s largest curated microdrama catalogue, marking a significant development in the media and entertainment industry.

Transforming the Microdrama Landscape

The collaboration unites BeLive’s microdrama delivery platform, Yeon Studios, with COL’s extensive pipeline of premium microdrama intellectual property (IP). This partnership aims to provide companies with a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for entering or expanding within the rapidly evolving microdrama economy. For the first time, technology and content are offered as a unified commercial package, allowing regional players to launch fully branded, market-ready microdrama platforms within just 30 days.

As vertical short-form storytelling gains traction as a commercially viable mobile-first format, demand is surging beyond established markets like the US and China. Despite this growth, many regional markets struggle with inadequate infrastructure, limited content options, and the absence of a clear operational framework. The COL-BeLive offering specifically addresses these challenges.

Under this model, partners will gain access to a complete microdrama ecosystem, which includes a vertical episodic playback engine optimised for series consumption, integrated gamification and reward systems, and advertising and hybrid subscription monetisation frameworks. Additional features include multi-language AI subtitling and optional commerce integration. By leveraging COL’s continually updated catalogue of premium microdrama titles, the platform is ready to deploy from day one, significantly reducing entry barriers for telecommunications companies, over-the-top (OTT) services, super apps, broadcasters, and digital publishers.

Expert Insights and Future Prospects

“This is a powerful combination of technology and content at exactly the right time,” stated Timothy Oh, General Manager of COL Group International. “Microdrama has already demonstrated its engagement and monetisation potential in the US and China. By packaging enterprise-grade SaaS with the world’s largest microdrama catalogue as one integrated solution, we’re simplifying operational complexities for our partners. They can concentrate on brand positioning and market execution, while we manage content curation and platform optimisation.”

Latif Sim, Executive Director of BeLive Holdings, highlighted the partnership’s broader ambition to accelerate the emerging Story Economy. “This collaboration with COL Group is not just about launching a product. It represents a new model for the Story Economy, transforming microdrama from platform-dependent content into owned, scalable infrastructure,” he explained.

The innovative “Microdrama in a Box” solution will be prominently featured at FILMART 2026, set to take place from March 17 to 20, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Booth 1B-A17. Additionally, COL and BeLive will host a masterclass on March 18 at 15:40 in Room N106–N108. The session, led by Oh and Sim, will cover essential topics including global market data, a practical 30-day launch blueprint, monetisation frameworks, and strategic considerations for scaling microdrama platforms in emerging regions. Attendees who pre-register will receive the full presentation and an accompanying industry report.

As the microdrama sector transitions from an experimental phase to institutional adoption, the “Microdrama in a Box” model is poised to become a focal point of discussion at FILMART 2026. It offers a clear pathway for companies to move from concept to platform in under a month.
