The premiere shows for the highly anticipated film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, have been cancelled due to technical issues. Just one day before its scheduled release on December 5, 2025, the production team announced the cancellation of the shows in India, which were set to take place on Thursday.

The production company, 14 Reels Plus, communicated the news via their X (formerly Twitter) account. They stated, “Akhanda 2 premieres in India scheduled for today are cancelled due to technical issues. We’ve tried our best, but a few things are beyond our control. Sorry for the inconvenience.” Despite this setback, the overseas premieres are expected to proceed as planned.

The film has generated significant buzz among audiences, especially after receiving a U/A certificate from the Censor Board, confirming its readiness for release. With a runtime of 166 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes), expectations are high for its opening.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam Overview

Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is directed by Boyapati Sreenu and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri. The sequel is designed to be a grand cinematic spectacle, with a narrative that promises to be larger than life.

The film features a powerful score by composer S Thaman, which aims to enhance the film’s action-packed sequences. Nandamuri Balakrishna portrays a fierce, spiritually charged character, expected to resonate deeply with fans and moviegoers alike.

Joining Balakrishna are Samyuktha as the female lead and Aadhi Pinisetty in a significant role. Young actress Harshali Malhotra also plays a key character, adding depth to the ensemble cast. Cinematography is handled by C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae, with editing by Tammiraju.

A teaser released recently portrays a narrative in which enemies plot against India, showcasing Balakrishna’s character dressed as a sadhu, declaring, “Where there is a bad, parallely, there is a God! Be brave.” This statement, delivered in Balakrishna’s signature style, hints at the film’s themes of divine justice against malevolent forces.

The teaser further highlights Balakrishna’s character as he confronts both external threats and dark sorcery, reinforcing the film’s promise of thrilling action sequences and a compelling storyline. Fans eagerly await the film’s release, hoping for an engaging cinematic experience that lives up to the hype.
