K.T. Rama Rao Urges BRS Cadre to Secure Jubilee Hills Victory
The working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K.T. Rama Rao, has called on party leaders in Greater Hyderabad to devise strategies for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. During a meeting on Saturday, he emphasized the importance of reminding voters about the significant development initiatives undertaken by the BRS government in the past.
Strategic Focus for By-Election
Rama Rao convened with party MLAs, MLCs, corporators, and former legislators to discuss a unified approach to ensure the success of BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath in the Jubilee Hills constituency. He underlined the need to showcase the party’s strength in Hyderabad, asserting, “The people of Hyderabad have shown immense faith in BRS by electing our candidates in every past election. We must honour and uphold that trust.”
He urged party leaders and corporators from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to highlight the city’s issues. Rama Rao pointed out the substantial achievements of the previous BRS government, which include improvements in road maintenance, construction of flyovers under the SRDP project, implementation of a 20,000-litre free drinking water scheme, and enhancements in power supply and sanitation management.
Critique of Congress Government
In a critical assessment of the current Congress government, Rama Rao accused them of neglecting basic civic needs such as sanitation, drinking water supply, and drainage maintenance. He asserted that under Congress rule, the city has seen a steep decline in essential services. “People must be reminded of how the Congress had betrayed them,” he stated, recalling the neglect and deterioration experienced over the last 22 months.
Rama Rao insisted that party members must communicate effectively with all segments of society, explaining how Congress misled voters with false promises. He expressed confidence that a BRS victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election would set the stage for a decisive win in the upcoming GHMC elections. “The pink flag has flown high over GHMC twice before and it will fly high for a third time as well,” he concluded, rallying the party’s enthusiasm for the task ahead.
