Teenager Stabbed to Death in Delhi; Five Minors Arrested

A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Delhi’s Rohini area when an 18-year-old named Divyanshu was allegedly lured to a public park and fatally stabbed by a group of minors on January 15, 2023. The attack has resulted in the arrest of five juveniles, including the victim’s girlfriend’s minor brother, who is believed to have orchestrated the crime.

The stabbing occurred at approximately 15:00 at Japanese Park, where Divyanshu was ambushed in broad daylight. As per police reports, the attack stemmed from a romantic relationship between Divyanshu and the sister of one of the attackers, which the minor brother strongly opposed.

After receiving a call via the police control room regarding the incident, officers arrived to find Divyanshu severely injured. He was promptly transported to BSA Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have registered a case under applicable sections of the law and initiated an investigation.

During the course of their inquiry, police uncovered vital evidence, including eyewitness testimonies and technical data. It emerged that the 17-year-old brother of the girl had conspired to eliminate Divyanshu due to his disapproval of their relationship. Reports indicate that the accused juvenile maintained contact with Divyanshu through a friend’s social media account, using a fake identity to lure him to the park.

On the day of the incident, the minor allegedly arrived at the park accompanied by several associates. They reportedly attacked Divyanshu with a knife, leading to his tragic demise.

Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved in the assault were juveniles, and they were apprehended within 24 hours of the incident. Investigators managed to recover the weapon used in the attack, along with Divyanshu’s mobile phone, wristwatch, and a metallic ‘kada’ from the suspects’ possession.

Officials disclosed that the juveniles were all residents of the same neighborhood and attended the same school. The investigation continues as police work to gather further details regarding the circumstances surrounding this shocking event.
