Him MSME Fest 2026 Set to Boost Himachal’s ‘Atmanirbhar’ Vision
The Him MSME Fest 2026, taking place from January 3 to 5, 2026, aims to enhance the vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) Himachal Pradesh by promoting innovation and inclusive economic growth. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the festival will act as a vital platform for connecting the state’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with modern markets, investment opportunities, and advanced technologies.
Under the theme “The Craft of the Hills on the Global Stage,” the festival will showcase local and traditional products from Himachal Pradesh, providing them with national and international visibility. According to an official statement, the event is designed to facilitate a unique convergence of emerging and established startups, allowing entrepreneurs to exhibit their products and services, engage with potential investors and buyers, and explore new avenues for growth.
The Him MSME Fest 2026 highlights the state government’s commitment to promoting inclusive industrial development. This initiative prioritizes investment facilitation, support for women entrepreneurs, and enterprise promotion. Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, the state’s Industries Minister, noted that the inaugural session will feature startup awards and a cultural evening that celebrates the rich folk traditions of Himachal Pradesh.
On the first day of the festival, a special exhibition will be dedicated to handcrafted shawls, showcasing the traditional weaving and handicraft heritage of various districts. This focus on local craftsmanship reflects the festival’s broader aim to strengthen the state’s industrial roadmap by prioritizing sectors such as green mobility, defence, pharmaceuticals, dairy, food processing, artificial intelligence, electronic chips, and data centres.
Strategic discussions are underway with leading industry players in these sectors to attract new investments to Himachal Pradesh. Special emphasis will be placed on women entrepreneurship and the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Through organized buyer-seller meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities, the festival aims to provide women and rural entrepreneurs with access to new business prospects, thereby enhancing the rural economy.
The festival is expected to facilitate direct interactions with major platforms, including Walmart, Amazon, and marketplaces featuring Geographical Indication (GI) products. Organizers are collaborating with Ernst and Young, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry to ensure the event’s success.
Through these initiatives, the Him MSME Fest 2026 is poised to play a pivotal role in transforming the economic landscape of Himachal Pradesh, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation that aligns with the broader vision of self-reliance for the state.
