The collision involved a speeding bus, which crashed head-on into an e-rickshaw and a small commercial vehicle, leaving 11 others injured.

According to local officials, the crash occurred in the Jhandapur area of Bhagalpur. The impact was severe, leading to immediate chaos as bystanders and emergency services rushed to the scene. Police, medical teams, and other first responders worked swiftly to provide aid and control the situation.

The deceased were identified as Arvind Mandal, aged 40, from Katihar district; Kunal Kumar, aged 6, from Khagaria district; and Purmi Devi, aged 35, along with her husband Sunil Das, aged 40, both from Bhagalpur district. In the aftermath of the crash, the Bhagalpur police announced their intention to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the bus driver and the owner of the vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding was a significant contributing factor to the crash. The police emphasized the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations on this heavily trafficked road, where accidents are unfortunately common.

Choudhary noted that the government has allocated funds for highway expansion and safety improvements in an effort to reduce the likelihood of future accidents. He urged motorists to exercise caution when driving on National Highway 31.
