Essity Appoints Niklas Westin Sundberg as New Chief Digital Officer
Hygiene and health company Essity has announced the appointment of Niklas Westin Sundberg as the new Chief Digital & Information Officer. He will succeed Carl-Magnus Månsson, who is departing from the company to pursue an external opportunity. This leadership transition is set to take effect on April 15, 2026, and Sundberg will join the Executive Management Team.
Niklas Westin Sundberg brings over 20 years of experience in digital development within international organizations. His background includes leading business-driven IT strategies, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and spearheading artificial intelligence initiatives at global firms such as Kuehne+Nagel and ASSA ABLOY. His expertise will be pivotal in furthering Essity’s digital transformation and overseeing the Digital Transformation and Business Enablement function.
The President and CEO of Essity, Ulrika Kolsrud, expressed confidence in Sundberg’s capabilities, stating, “Niklas Westin Sundberg combines in-depth expertise in digital transformation with a distinct business focus and will play a vital role in Essity’s digitalization journey moving forward.” She also acknowledged the significant contributions of Carl-Magnus Månsson, thanking him for his dedication to the company’s digital advancement.
As Chief Digital & Information Officer, Sundberg will report directly to Kolsrud, highlighting the importance of this role in steering Essity towards its goals of profitable growth, improved customer experiences, and operational efficiency.
This strategic appointment reflects Essity’s commitment to leveraging digital solutions for enhancing its business processes and customer interactions. The company remains focused on being at the forefront of innovation within the hygiene and health sector.
