Delhi CM Highlights 650,000 Registrations Under Ayushman Bharat

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced during the Republic Day celebrations that a total of 650,000 individuals have registered for the Ayushman Bharat health scheme since its launch in the national capital. The scheme, which offers beneficiaries life insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh, was implemented on the very first day of the current BJP government’s tenure.

The announcement was made at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi, where the Chief Minister unfurled the national flag. In her address, Gupta emphasized the significance of the Ayushman Bharat initiative, describing it as the largest health scheme in the country and the world. She stated, “Today, 650,000 people have registered under this scheme, which provides life insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh to the beneficiaries.”

Over the past eleven months since the BJP took charge in Delhi, Gupta highlighted several measures aimed at improving public welfare and instigating positive change in the lives of citizens. She remarked, “When our government took charge of Delhi eleven months ago, we faced numerous challenges, but the biggest challenge was the dust and obstacles that had accumulated on the system over the years. We have taken several meaningful steps to change this situation and give Delhi a new direction.”

She referenced the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a foundation for their decisions aimed at public welfare. Gupta asserted that substantial efforts have been made to enhance the quality of life for the people of Delhi.

During her speech, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. “I pay homage to those martyrs who prioritized the nation above even their own lives for the honour of the tricolour and bequeathed us this republic, self-respect, and freedom,” Gupta stated. She underscored the importance of the Constitution, calling it the “soul of India,” and noted that it has served as a beacon of light for justice, equality, and dignity over the past 77 years.

In addition to her speech, Chief Minister Gupta also had the opportunity to review the Republic Day parade at Chhatrasal Stadium, marking a day of national pride and celebration. Her remarks and actions reflect the government’s commitment to both honoring the past and addressing contemporary challenges facing the capital.
