Apple Set to Launch Sixth Retail Store in India on February 26
Apple Inc. has announced the opening of its sixth retail store in India, named Apple Borivali, which is scheduled to open its doors to customers on February 26, 2024. This new location marks the second Apple Store in Mumbai, following the launch of Apple BKC earlier this year. The expansion is part of Apple’s strategy to strengthen its physical presence in the rapidly growing Indian market.
The company began its retail expansion in 2023 with the simultaneous openings of two stores: Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi. Following these inaugural locations, Apple continued its growth in 2025 with the launch of three additional stores: Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru, Apple Koregaon Park in Pune, and Apple Noida in the National Capital Region. There are also reports of a potential seventh store on the horizon, which is expected to be located in Hyderabad, although this has yet to be confirmed by the company.
Apple’s ongoing recruitment efforts indicate a commitment to further expansion. Job listings for positions such as store leader and senior manager for the upcoming Hyderabad location have been posted on Apple’s official website. Historically, the company initiates recruitment well before new store openings, hinting that it may take time before this store becomes operational.
The launch of the Apple Borivali store highlights a successful retail strategy that goes beyond mere sales. Apple envisions its stores as cultural hubs, allowing consumers to engage with products and ideas in an interactive environment. This approach has proven effective, as evidenced by the positive performance of existing stores, which has surpassed expectations. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, recently expressed excitement about the company’s retail achievements during an earnings call, stating, “In retail, we continue to bring a magical experience to our customers all around the world, and we were thrilled to have our best-ever results in retail during the quarter.”
The growth of Apple’s retail operations in India can be attributed to a combination of factors, including an engaging shopping experience, trade-in programs, and a premium product lineup. These elements have contributed to notable sales increases, with record revenues reported not only for the December quarter but also specifically for products like iPhones, Macs, and iPads. Additionally, Apple reported an all-time high in service revenue, reflecting the company’s successful market strategy.
As Apple prepares to open the Apple Borivali store, it emphasizes its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Indian consumers. With this strategic expansion and continued investments, Apple aims to strengthen its position in the Indian tech landscape, embracing the opportunities presented by one of the world’s largest mobile markets.
