Arlovski Challenges Doherty’s Bodyguard to Boxing Match After Scuffle
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has issued a challenge to streamer Jack Doherty’s bodyguard following a confrontation at the recent boxing event featuring Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua. The incident, which took place backstage, has sparked a potential boxing match that has captured the attention of fans and media alike.
During the event held on October 14, 2023, tensions escalated when Arlovski encountered members of Doherty’s entourage. Video footage shows members of the crew attempting to confront Arlovski, although Doherty himself did not engage directly. In an interview with noted MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Arlovski expressed his desire to resolve the altercation in the ring. “Ariel, you have more connections, please hook me up. Yes, I would love to, especially with that bodyguard guy,” he stated, acknowledging the support he received from fans.
Doherty quickly reacted to Arlovski’s challenge on social media, announcing that his bodyguard was open to fighting the former champion. In a post on X, Doherty emphasized the financial potential of the bout. “My security is down to box that Andrei guy in a fight. So Andrei, you want to box or fight my security guard, let’s set it up and do it the right way,” he wrote. He continued, “You guys would get the biggest paydays of your lives, and me too, baby.”
As the exchange heated up, Doherty proposed an even more unconventional scenario. In a follow-up video, he suggested a multi-opponent match where Arlovski could face multiple fighters simultaneously. “Or we can 3 vs. 1, Andrei. It will be all three of us in the ring. He doesn’t stand a chance,” Doherty claimed, illustrating his confidence in his team’s ability to take on Arlovski. “Maybe we’ll 4 vs. 1 him. You guys let us know.”
The back-and-forth between Arlovski and Doherty has rapidly gained traction online, with fans engaging in debates over whether the former UFC fighter should accept the challenge as a one-on-one bout or consider the multi-man proposal. While no official fight has been confirmed at this stage, the ongoing dialogue has added excitement to the already dynamic landscape of crossover boxing events.
Arlovski, affectionately known as “The Pitbull,” remains eager to demonstrate his skills against Doherty’s camp. The streamer, known for pushing boundaries in the entertainment space, continues to explore unique opportunities within the realm of combat sports. As the situation develops, it is clear that the intersection of traditional fighting and modern streaming culture continues to generate significant interest among audiences worldwide.
