Saurashtra University Hosts Global Nanostructuring Conference

Saurashtra University (SU) in Rajkot will host the 8th International Conference on Nanostructuring by Ion Beams (ICNIB 2025) from October 7 to 9, 2025. This biennial event, organized in collaboration with the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) in New Delhi, aims to gather leading scientists, experts, and emerging researchers focused on ion-solid interactions and advanced materials.

Focus on Ion Beam Research

The conference will delve into the significant role of ion beam research in modifying the properties of various materials, including metals, semiconductors, alloys, and polymers. These advancements are crucial in fields such as electronics, medicine, and space technology. Utpal Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, stated, “At ICNIB 2025, experts will deliberate on how energetic ions can create or enhance nanostructures, nanoparticles, and thin films.”

Key topics will cover ion-induced sputtering and diffusion, defect engineering, radiation damage, semiconductor device processing, and computational material science. The discussions aim to foster collaboration and innovation among researchers in these cutting-edge fields.

More than 200 researchers are expected to participate, sharing their findings through oral and poster presentations.
