Nanded District Administration Issues Show-Cause Notice Over Exam Lapses
The Nanded district administration has issued a show-cause notice to the superintendent of an examination centre due to significant lapses during the recent Class 12 board examinations. This action follows a surprise visit by District Collector Rahul Kardile to the examination centre located at a school in Kandhar Tehsil on March 11, 2024. The official’s inspection revealed that certain critical procedures were not followed.
During the visit, Kardile noted that unused question papers were not being kept under CCTV surveillance, as mandated by the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Additionally, some teachers present at the centre did not display proper identification, and there was an insufficient number of dual desks arranged for students. These findings were deemed serious enough by the collector to warrant strict action, leading to a directive for a proposal to cancel the examination centre’s operation.
In response to these irregularities, the district administration has confirmed that a show-cause notice has been formally issued to the centre superintendent. This notice serves as a preliminary step in addressing the violations observed during the examination process.
To enhance the integrity of future examinations, the Nanded district administration has announced several measures aimed at preventing malpractice. These include the establishment of special monitoring squads and the implementation of live supervision through Zoom webcasting, supported by two control rooms. Such initiatives reflect an ongoing commitment to ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly and transparently.
As the education sector continues to adapt to evolving challenges, the administration’s actions highlight the importance of maintaining rigorous standards in examination protocols. The emphasis on proper surveillance and identification aims to bolster the credibility of the education system and protect the interests of students.
The district’s efforts may serve as a model for other regions facing similar challenges, emphasizing the need for strict adherence to examination guidelines to uphold academic integrity.
