Himachal Pradesh University Pursues Research Collaboration with ANRF
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is moving forward with plans to collaborate with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to enhance research and innovation efforts. This initiative was highlighted during the Foundation Day celebrations of ANRF, which took place in New Delhi. The event featured esteemed academicians, researchers, policymakers, and representatives from leading research institutions across the nation, with HPU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mahavir Singh, in attendance.
During the celebrations, Prof. Mahavir Singh engaged in discussions with Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, the Chief Executive Officer of ANRF, to explore potential collaborative research opportunities. The Vice-Chancellor provided insights into HPU’s ongoing research initiatives and emerging research centers, expressing a strong interest in aligning these with the vision of ANRF.
HPU has recently secured a research grant amounting to Rs 10.23 crore under the PAIR Network for a project titled “Dynamic Research Ecosystem for Advanced Materials (DREAMS).” This project aims to bolster advanced materials research, promote interdisciplinary scientific inquiries, and enhance the university’s research infrastructure and innovation capabilities.
Strengthening India’s Research Ecosystem
The ANRF was established by the Union Government of India to foster and promote research and development across universities, colleges, research institutions, and industries. Its mission is to strengthen India’s research ecosystem by encouraging collaboration, supporting translational research, assisting young researchers, and facilitating innovation-driven growth in areas of national importance.
Prof. Mahavir Singh emphasized that participation in national-level platforms like ANRF will significantly benefit faculty members, research scholars, and students. He noted that these collaborations will provide enhanced opportunities for joint research efforts, capacity building, and access to advanced funding mechanisms for research initiatives.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that HPU would actively engage with ANRF programs, reinforcing the university’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to national scientific advancement. By leveraging these new partnerships, HPU aims to enhance its research output and play a pivotal role in India’s growing academic landscape.
As universities worldwide increasingly focus on collaborative research, HPU’s proactive steps could set a precedent for similar initiatives in the region, ultimately benefiting the broader academic community and contributing to scientific progress.
