Air Chief Marshal AP Singh Celebrates Diwali with Troops in Ladakh

On Diwali, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visited the Ladakh sector to honor Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Army (IA) personnel serving in the region. During his visit on November 12, 2023, he engaged with troops stationed in challenging high-altitude conditions and praised their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders.

In a message shared on X, the IAF conveyed that the Air Chief Marshal extended festive greetings to the personnel. He commended their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the security of the nation’s frontiers, especially under difficult circumstances. “He commended them for their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers under challenging high-altitude conditions,” the IAF stated.

Celebrations Across Siachen and Local Communities

Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, also participated in Diwali celebrations by visiting the Siachen Glacier. He spent time with troops stationed in this extreme environment, further boosting morale during the festive season. Additionally, he made a stop at Terchey village near Thoise, where he interacted with local residents and shared Diwali wishes.

Earlier, Kavinder Gupta, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, celebrated the festival with Indian Army personnel during an event organized by the Fire & Fury Corps at the Rinchen Auditorium. He was accompanied by senior military officials, including Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 14 Corps; Major General Praveen Chhabra, GOC of the 72 Sub Area; and Brigadier Umesh Parab and Brigadier Ajay Katoch.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to the soldiers on behalf of the people of Ladakh. He praised their bravery, dedication, and resilience in serving under harsh conditions, emphasizing their role in maintaining security in border areas.
