Yen Utsav 2025 Celebrates Excellence at Yenepoya Medical College
The annual celebration known as Yen Utsav 2025 took place on December 22, 2025, at Yendurance Hall, located within Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) in Deralakatte, Mangaluru. This event brought together hospital staff, stakeholders, and partners to celebrate the institution’s achievements and express gratitude for their contributions to healthcare.
A significant aspect of the event was the recognition of both individual and organizational partners who have played a crucial role in the hospital’s growth. The Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners were honored for their vital contributions, with individual awards presented to Noorulla Khan R (Davangere), Jameer Ahamad Byadgi (Haveri), Javeed Ahmed Godiyal (Haveri), Rahamathunnisa (Deralakatte), and S K Musthafa (Kannur). Additionally, the following partner organizations were awarded the Yen Sahayog Award: Peace Welfare Trust® from Davangere, Sirsi Taluk Minority Education and Welfare Trust® from Sirsi, and Karuvanchal Haritha Charitable Society® from Kannur.
Commitment to Healthcare Excellence
The event also marked the launch of the Hospital Calendar 2026, symbolizing Yenepoya Medical College Hospital’s ongoing dedication to service and excellence in patient care. Dr Mukhthar Abdulla, the assistant medical superintendent, opened the proceedings with a welcome address. In his keynote speech, Dr Nagaraj Shet, also an assistant medical superintendent, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to providing quality healthcare at affordable prices. He highlighted the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat National Portability initiative, which allows beneficiaries enrolled across the country to receive treatment at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital.
Dr Shet further discussed the Yen Arogya Card, which offers significantly reduced outpatient and inpatient services for individuals not covered by government or social insurance schemes. He also pointed out the availability of advanced dual robotic surgery units, including the Da Vinci and SSI Mantra 3.0, which provide cashless treatment through various insurance schemes.
The chief guest, Dr M A Wani, a senior consultant at the Yenepoya Group of Hospitals, spoke about the indispensable role hospitals play in nation-building and public welfare. He noted that Yen Utsav serves as a platform to acknowledge service excellence while allowing hospital staff to showcase their talents.
Latha Mallikarjun, an esteemed Member of the Legislative Assembly for Harapanahalli Constituency in the Government of Karnataka, praised the hospital’s patient-centric approach and its significant contributions to cancer care and other super-specialty services. She acknowledged the positive feedback received from the community over the years.
Dr M S Moosabba, principal of Yenepoya Medical College, underlined that patient trust, daily patient flow, and the quality of services are the true measures of a hospital’s success. Dr Habib Rahman, the medical superintendent and chairperson of Yen Utsav 2025, expressed appreciation for the Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners’ vital role in extending healthcare outreach throughout Karnataka and Kerala.
The program commenced with a prayer led by Muhammed Sabith P, deputy hospital operations officer. Niliesha Carvallo, assistant hospital operations officer, skillfully compered the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nelvin Nelson, deputy manager of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital. The evening included prize distributions, cultural performances by hospital staff, and a communal dinner, emphasizing unity and celebration among all participants.
