Uttarakhand Governor Inspires Youth at Founder’s Week Celebration

Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh addressed an audience of students and educators as the chief guest during the Founder’s Week celebrations of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad in Gorakhpur. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of dreaming to achieve success, urging young people to “dare to dream, and dream with your eyes open.”

The Governor hailed Maharana Pratap as a symbol of courage and self-respect, encouraging youth to draw inspiration from his legacy. He highlighted that competition is essential for self-improvement, stating, “Unless you are ‘in’, you can’t ‘win’.” His words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the notion that active engagement is key to personal and professional growth.

In his speech, Singh praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his decisive governance, attributing the reduction of crime and lawlessness in Uttar Pradesh to his leadership. He described Gorakhpur as a hub of faith, culture, and patriotism, underscoring its significance in the broader context of Indian identity.

The Governor also addressed the shifting dynamics of the 21st century, pointing out the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cyber technology. He stated that India must adapt its strategies and perspectives to navigate these global challenges effectively. Additionally, he noted the increasing importance of rare earth and critical materials in international discourse.

Invoking the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, Singh emphasized India’s strength in its unity and the diversity that characterizes its population. He argued that a true leader is one who is willing to put in “that extra hour of effort” when others may have given up. He reinforced the idea that success is unattainable without hard work and dedication.

Singh concluded his address by paying tribute to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, Mahant Digvijaynath, and Mahant Avaidyanath, along with the current Peethadheeshwar, CM Yogi Adityanath. He recognized their dedication to public service and their commitment to disseminating Sanatan values. Their lives, he said, exemplify a spirit of altruism and unconditional service to society.
