The Mother of God Church in Mogarnad marked a significant occasion on February 22, 2026, with the annual celebration of Catechism Day. The event began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration that emphasized the importance of Christian education and the special role of children in the faith community.

The holy Mass was presided over by Dr Edward Barretto, the Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Darjeeling, who served as the main celebrant and guest of honour. He was joined by Fr Anil Canute D’Mello, the parish priest, and Fr Naveen Pinto, the principal of Deva Matha English Medium School. The day’s theme, “We are little children, the fruits of God’s Kingdom,” resonated throughout the service.
