Moodlakatte Nursing College Celebrates New Graduates with Oath Ceremony
A ceremonial lamp lighting and oath-taking event was held for the BSc Nursing batch 6 students of Moodlakatte Nursing College on March 3, 2023. The ceremony took place at the college auditorium in Kundapur and marked a significant milestone in the students’ academic journey.
Inauguration and Tribute to Nursing Pioneer
The event was inaugurated by esteemed guests, including Dr Anitha C Rai, principal of Vidyarathna Nursing College; Dr S N Bhat, academic director of IMJ Educational Institution; Professor Jennifer Freeda Meneges, principal of Moodlakatte Nursing College; and Roopashree K S, vice-principal of the college. The dignitaries performed the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment.
The program commenced with an invocation, followed by a floral tribute to the portrait of Florence Nightingale, honoring her foundational contributions to modern nursing. This tribute set a reflective tone for the ceremony, emphasizing the values of care and compassion central to the nursing profession.
Oath Taking and Inspirational Addresses
The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking segment, administered by Professor Jennifer Freeda Meneges. The students pledged to uphold the ethical standards, values, and responsibilities inherent in the nursing profession. This moment underscored the commitment required to serve in healthcare.
Dr Anitha C Rai, in her address, inspired the students by highlighting the significance of their chosen career path. She emphasized the vital role nurses play in healthcare and encouraged them to embrace their responsibilities with integrity and dedication. Dr S N Bhat, during his presidential address, urged the graduates to remain committed to their duties and uphold the dignity of the nursing profession, praising the organization of the event.
Welcoming attendees to the ceremony was Chethana, while Chandrashekar, head of the pediatric department, delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the national anthem, leaving graduates with a sense of pride and accomplishment as they embark on their professional journeys.
