Ganesh Laddu Auction Breaks Record, Sells for Rs 2.32 Crore

A Ganesh laddu weighing 10 kilograms was auctioned for a record-breaking Rs 2.32 crore in Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, on the night of September 5, 2023. This sale surpassed last year’s auction record of Rs 1.87 crore, demonstrating the increasing enthusiasm among bidders for this traditional sweet.

The auction took place at the Keerthi Richmond Villas and attracted significant attention from local villa owners. Over the course of approximately two and a half hours, more than 80 participants placed around 500 bids. The competitive bidding began at 20:15 and concluded around 22:40, reflecting the high demand for the laddu.

The Ganesh laddu, a symbolic offering during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, holds cultural significance for many in India. The proceeds from the auction are expected to support local community initiatives, further enhancing the communal spirit associated with the festival.
