A resident of Chandlodia has been accused of fraudulently obtaining an electricity connection on land that does not belong to him. The complaint was filed recently with the Sola High Court Police by a 43-year-old trader from Vatva, who claims that the connection was acquired using a fake municipal tax bill.

The trader asserts that he legally purchased the agricultural land in question, located in Ghatlodia taluka, through a registered sale deed dated July 2025. He became aware of the unauthorized electricity connection on October 3, 2025, when he visited the site and discovered the installation.

According to the details provided in the complaint, the connection was granted based on an online application for a temporary connection submitted on September 12, 2025. The complainant alleges that he was not informed of this application and that the connection was established despite the land being legally owned by him.

The case raises significant concerns about fraudulent practices in acquiring utility services. The trader’s legal recourse through the Sola High Court Police highlights the importance of verifying documentation for utility connections to prevent such unauthorized activities.

As investigations continue, the focus will be on how the fraudulent application was processed and what measures can be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future. This case underscores the need for vigilance in property ownership and utility management.
