Health Services Resume in Sirsa as Doctors End Strike
Health services in Sirsa resumed on March 15, 2024, after a four-day strike by doctors was called off by the Haryana CMS Association. Patients expressed their relief at the return of medical services, although many were slow to visit rural hospitals due to the delayed news of the strike’s conclusion reaching local communities.
With the strike officially over, surgeries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which had been suspended, resumed on Friday. The issuance of Medico-Legal Reports (MLRs), which had been redirected to Agroha during the strike, is now back on track at local hospitals. This swift return to normal operations marks a significant relief for both patients and healthcare providers in the district.
Patients Welcome Resumption of Services
The reopening of the ultrasound facility proved particularly beneficial, with approximately 40 scans conducted on the first day back. Many patients, who had faced delays due to the strike, were eager to take advantage of the resumed services. Among them was Manjeet Kaur from Rania, who had been unable to access a scan for two days. She promptly visited the hospital after the facility reopened and received her report by 11:30 am.
Other patients echoed her sentiments. Muskaan from Thehad Mohalla and Rehana from Rania Chungi also expressed their relief at the availability of medical services once more. “It feels great to have the services back. I was worried about my health,” Muskaan shared.
Hospital Operations Returning to Normal
As hospital operations gradually return to normal, officials anticipate an increase in patient numbers over the coming days. The swift resumption of services reflects the commitment of healthcare professionals to their communities, despite the recent challenges posed by the strike. The local administration is optimistic that patient flow will stabilize as awareness of the resumed services spreads.
In conclusion, the end of the strike marks a crucial step towards restoring healthcare accessibility in Sirsa, with patients looking forward to receiving the care they need without further interruptions.
