Chief Minister Naidu Launches HPV Vaccination Drive in Vizianagaram

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch a significant Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme in the Vizianagaram district today, March 15, 2024. This initiative aims to provide free vaccinations to protect girls aged 14 and above from the risk of cervical cancer. In addition to the vaccination drive, Naidu will also distribute NTR Bharosa pensions to vulnerable residents in the Cheepurupalli constituency.

The Chief Minister will commence his visit from Amaravati, departing at 09:30 and arriving at Ravivalasa village by 11:10. His first stop will be at the Community Health Centre at 11:30, where he will engage with young girls receiving the vaccine. This health initiative seeks to reach approximately 345,000 adolescent girls across Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the state government’s commitment to enhancing public health.

At noon, the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign will be officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Ajmer, Rajasthan. Naidu will participate in this national programme from Ravivalasa, marking the rollout of the initiative in his state.

Following the health event, at 13:00, Naidu will address a public gathering at Praja Vedika. He is also scheduled to visit the homes of NTR Bharosa pension beneficiaries in Ravivalasa at 14:50, personally distributing pensions to those in need. Later in the afternoon, at 15:15, he will convene a meeting with members of the Telugu Desam Party.

After concluding his district tour, Naidu is expected to return to Amaravati by 19:00. This visit underscores the government’s efforts to improve health services and support for disadvantaged communities in Andhra Pradesh.
