Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, aged 90, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai following a minor brain haemorrhage. The incident occurred on February 17, 2024, prompting visits from prominent figures in the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, who have all expressed support during this critical time.

Shah Rukh Khan visited the hospital on Saturday to check on Khan’s condition. Salman Khan was also seen at the hospital earlier, while Aamir Khan made an appearance on February 19, accompanied by his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt. The visits highlight the close-knit nature of the Bollywood community, rallying around one of its longstanding members.

Doctors have confirmed that Salim Khan’s condition is stable and that no surgical intervention was necessary. Dr Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing his care, clarified that the haemorrhage was minimal and did not warrant surgery. “There was no surgery performed. It was a procedure which we usually do. Yes, he had a brain haemorrhage, which was very minimal, which did not require any surgical intervention,” Dr Parkar stated. He emphasized that the situation is being closely monitored in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The hospital confirmed that Salim Khan was admitted at 08:30 on February 17. He was brought in by his family doctor and subsequently transferred to the ICU for observation. An official statement from the hospital outlined the circumstances surrounding his admission and ongoing treatment.

The film fraternity has shown significant support, with various industry veterans visiting Salim Khan. Notable figures such as Javed Akhtar, a close friend of Khan, were among those who paid their respects at the hospital. Politician Rahool N Kanal and actress Lulia Vantur also visited, reflecting the wide-reaching impact of Khan’s legacy in the film industry.
