Raj Kundra Reveals Family’s Initial Opposition to Shilpa Shetty

During the discussion, Kundra recounted how, upon meeting Shetty, his father had reservations. “My father said, ‘Arre yaar, kya actresses ke saath lag gaya hai? Daru piti hain, cigarette piti hain’ (What are you doing with an actress? They drink alcohol, they smoke cigarettes),” he recalled. Despite these initial concerns, Kundra’s father ultimately encouraged him to meet Shetty before forming any judgments. That meeting proved pivotal.

Kundra humorously shared how the family quickly changed their tune after meeting Shetty. “They met her and said, ‘Tu ja side mein, we live with her now’ (You move aside, we live with her now),” he said, indicating how his family had instantly taken a liking to her. Shetty added with a smile, “My in-laws love me more than they love Raj.”

The couple has recently attracted attention following Kundra’s debut in the Punjabi film industry with the movie Mehar. Shetty proudly announced on social media that she received her first autograph from her husband during the screening of the film. Sharing a light-hearted moment, she posted a picture where Kundra signed a tissue paper, quipping, “First autograph. Abhi tak cheque par leti thi main” (I used to take checks until now).
