Prabhas Launches Script Craft International Short Film Festival
Tollywood star Prabhas has officially launched the Script Craft International Short Film Festival through an announcement video shared on social media. The festival aims to provide a platform for filmmakers and storytellers from around the globe to showcase their work and embark on their cinematic journeys.
In the video, Prabhas remarked, “The Script Craft isn’t just a festival—it’s where stories become careers.” He emphasized the importance of giving every voice a chance, stating, “Every dream story deserves a chance. #TheScriptCraft International Short Film Festival is here, inviting storytellers from around the world to begin.”
Details of the Festival
The festival welcomes short films of a minimum duration of two minutes across all genres. Submissions will be open for a period of ninety days, during which films will compete for audience votes, likes, and ratings. The top three films will be awarded, while all entries will gain visibility from production houses associated with the Script Craft platform.
Filmmakers Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Nag Ashwin, and Hanu Raghavapudi also featured in the announcement video, each sharing insights on the importance of short films. Vanga noted, “Making a short film is the most important aspect in pursuing the filmmaking process. Whatever you have achieved on writing on paper and what you will achieve on screen are exactly two different realities. For all the aspirants, it’s the right time to enroll and make the best out of it.”
Ashwin shared his personal experience of discovering talent through short films, stating, “I found Anudeep through a short film on YouTube and that’s how ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ happened. I hope all of you utilize this opportunity to submit your films, make your films, and make the best out of it.” Raghavapudi encouraged aspiring filmmakers, saying, “Many youngsters have a desire to enter the film industry and direct films. Present your vision, conquer your dream. Good luck.”
Partnership and Opportunities
“We believe the next visionary filmmaker can come from anywhere,”
stated a spokesperson from Script Craft. The festival has partnered with Quick TV, which will select fifteen filmmakers through its internal jury. Each selected filmmaker will receive support for a ninety-minute script, production backing, and a global premiere on the Quick TV platform.
Registrations for the festival are currently open on TheScriptCraft.com, with details regarding submission timelines and categories to be announced soon. Thaalla Vaishnav, one of the founders of Script Craft, expressed the initiative’s mission: “We truly believe the next great filmmaker can come from anywhere. Through ‘The Script Craft’, we want to empower young storytellers, help them showcase their work, and connect them with opportunities that can shape real careers.”
On the professional front, Prabhas is preparing for several upcoming projects, including The RajaSaab, Fauzi, Spirit, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and Salaar Part 2.
