Kangana Ranaut Criticizes Jaya Bachchan After Viral Incident
Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has publicly condemned fellow actress Jaya Bachchan following a viral incident in which Jaya was seen pushing a fan attempting to take a selfie with her at the Constitution Club in New Delhi. The incident, which occurred on March 12, 2024, quickly garnered widespread attention on social media, leading to a flurry of reactions from the public and other celebrities.
In her response, Kangana took to her Instagram stories to express her disapproval, labeling Jaya as “spoilt” and “disgraceful.” She wrote, “Most spoilt and privileged woman. People put up with her tantrums/non-sense just because she is Amitabh Bachchan ji’s wife. That Samajwadi topi looks like a rooster comb, while she looks like a fighting cock!! Such disgrace and shame.” Kangana’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among some netizens who criticized Jaya’s actions during the encounter.
The viral video shows Jaya Bachchan, a member of the Samajwadi Party, reacting to the fan’s request for a selfie. She was captured saying, “Kya kar rahe hai aap?” or “What are you doing?” before she pushed the man away. Fellow parliamentarian and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, who was present during the incident, appeared to observe the situation but continued walking without intervening.
Public reaction has been mixed, with many expressing disappointment over Jaya’s perceived rudeness. One social media user remarked, “This is her repeated behaviour; why are people mad to take selfies with such characters?” Another added, “That’s so rude,” while a third stated, “Something is wrong with her always; we do respect her as an actor.”
Kangana Ranaut, currently recognized for her role in the film Emergency, which is based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, continues to make headlines for her outspoken views. The film, directed and co-produced by Kangana, has received mixed reviews, achieving an IMDb rating of 5.2.
As this incident unfolds, both actresses remain in the spotlight, reflecting the complex dynamics of celebrity culture and public expectations in India.
