Renowned Carnatic musician L Ganasaraswathy passed away earlier this week at the age of 82. The news was confirmed by her brother, well-known violinist L Subramaniam, who shared that she was in her daughter’s home in Los Angeles at the time of her passing.
Ganasaraswathy, affectionately known as Ganam, was not only a devoted musician and vocalist but also a prolific composer. Throughout her career, she composed over 600 original songs, many of which were released under her distinct signatures: Ganam, Ganapriya, and Gana Rasigha.
