A state-of-the-art flour mill, the largest of its kind in Haryana, was inaugurated in Jatusana by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on March 15, 2024. The facility, developed at a cost of Rs 13.60 crore, is expected to significantly contribute to the economic development and employment opportunities in the region.

The inauguration ceremony took place virtually during an event in Panchkula, attended by notable figures including Kosli MLA Anil Yadav and several senior officials from the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED). Alongside the flour mill opening, Shah also launched libraries in six villages, which were built at a total cost of Rs 60.75 lakh.

Anil Yadav emphasized the mill’s importance, stating that its production capacity stands at an impressive 100 metric tonnes per day. He highlighted its fully automated nature, featuring programmable logic controller (PLC) technology. The new libraries are located in the villages of Masit, Karawara, Jatusana, Krishna Nagar, Kanwali, and Bawwa, further enhancing educational resources in rural areas.

Yadav expressed gratitude to the leaders involved in this initiative, which collectively amounts to projects worth Rs 15 crore. This development is seen as a landmark for the local community, providing essential infrastructure and resources.

Innovative Features of the New Flour Mill

After the inauguration, Yadav and other officials, including HAFED Superintending Engineer Vikas Malik, conducted an inspection of the mill. Malik noted that the facility also includes a silo with a storage capacity of 5,000 MT. The mill has an automated packing section designed to meet its substantial production capacity, ensuring efficiency in operations.

Another significant aspect of the mill is its capability to produce multi-grain flour. This feature allows for the fortification of flour, aimed at enhancing its nutritional value and catering to the health needs of the community. The establishment of the mill reflects a strategic move towards improving food security and nutrition in Haryana.

The opening of the Jatusana HAFED flour mill marks a pivotal moment for the region, providing modern amenities that are expected to uplift the local economy and support the livelihoods of many residents. As Haryana continues to invest in infrastructure and community development, projects like this are essential for fostering growth and sustainability in rural areas.
