Tirupati Approves Nearly 2,000 Industrial Proposals Under New System

The administration of Tirupati has approved a total of 1,946 industrial proposals under the newly implemented single-desk system since December 2025. District Collector Venkateswar announced this achievement during a review meeting of the district industrial export promotion committee. The meeting highlighted that 2,135 applications were received during this period, with 188 proposals still undergoing examination.

Venkateswar emphasized the need for officials to expedite the processing of pending applications to prevent delays in granting necessary approvals. He noted the state government’s commitment to fostering the establishment of new Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are crucial for economic growth and job creation in the region. “Officials must focus on providing employment opportunities to youth through industrial expansion,” he stated.

Incentives and Cluster Development

During the meeting, an incentive package totaling ₹9.05 crore was approved for 12 industrial units based on recommendations from the inspection committee. The incentives included investment subsidies for seven units, an electricity subsidy for one unit, and interest subsidies for four units. This financial support is expected to enhance the operational capabilities of these businesses and boost local employment.

Officials also provided updates on various cluster development programs in the district. These initiatives include the printing cluster in Tirupati, the Kalamkari cluster in Srikalahasti, the Narayanavanam power loom cluster, and the photo frames cluster in Tirupati. Both the Narayanavanam power loom cluster and the photo frames cluster have received state-level approval, with proposals submitted to the central government for final endorsement.

Venkateswar addressed the importance of land allotment for industrial development, highlighting the role of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). He noted that several industrial units are at various stages of development and urged officials to ensure that those yet to commence operations do so without further delay. This push for prompt action is part of a broader strategy to enhance industrial activity and economic growth in Tirupati.
