Telangana Secures ₹30,000 Crore in Davos Investment Deals
Telangana achieved a significant milestone at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, signing multiple memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and securing investment commitments totaling nearly ₹30,000 crore. This impressive outcome underscores the state’s emergence as a prominent global investment destination, aligning with its vision of transforming into a $3-trillion economy by 2047.
The agreements signal the Telangana government’s commitment to building a future-ready economy, as outlined in the Telangana Rising 2047 initiative. This effort aims to enhance the state’s economic framework while encouraging sustainable growth. The recent developments follow the Telangana Rising Global Summit held in December 2025 in Bharat Future City, where the state secured investment commitments of ₹5.75 lakh crore, reflecting sustained global confidence in Telangana’s governance and growth strategy.
Key Investments and Partnerships
Among the notable agreements, the Telangana government signed a major MoU with the Rashmi Group, an Indian industrial conglomerate, committing to an investment of ₹12,500 crore for a steel production unit. This project is projected to create approximately 12,000 direct and indirect jobs and will enhance the state’s manufacturing ecosystem. Additionally, it emphasizes green manufacturing practices, aligning with Telangana’s net-zero aspirations.
Another significant partnership was established with Blaize, a California-based company specializing in energy-efficient AI hardware. This agreement aims to accelerate initiatives in electronics, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence, particularly by scaling Blaize’s existing R&D and engineering center in Hyderabad. This collaboration enhances Telangana’s ambition of becoming a global hub for AI innovation.
The state also signed an MoU with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre to foster cooperation in startup development. This agreement will facilitate access for Telangana startups to international markets, mentorship networks, and investment opportunities, further solidifying Hyderabad’s status as a global startup hub.
In the clean energy sector, NUkler Products, based in Slovakia, submitted an Expression of Interest for developing a Small Modular Reactor-based clean energy project in Telangana. With an estimated investment of ₹6,000 crore and an installed capacity of up to 300 MW, this initiative represents a strategic advancement toward nuclear-based clean energy infrastructure, supporting the state’s long-term net-zero goals.
US-based Sargad signed an MoU to invest up to ₹1,000 crore over the next three to five years in advanced manufacturing. The company is keen on establishing an aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility in the region, which is expected to enhance aerospace and defense manufacturing capabilities while creating skilled employment opportunities.
Broader Implications for Telangana
The Telangana government also reached an agreement with the UAE government to collaborate on the development of Bharat Future City, envisioned as India’s first net-zero greenfield smart city. This partnership aims to focus on urban infrastructure development and sustainability, with plans for a joint task force to ensure efficient project implementation across the flagship initiative.
In the consumer sector, AB InBev announced plans to expand its existing facility in Telangana, which will bolster the state’s industrial base and enhance revenue generation. Additionally, Unilever is exploring the establishment of a Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, aligning its sustainability goals with Telangana’s renewable energy and circular economy initiatives.
In a notable development in the beauty-tech industry, L’Oréal plans to set up the world’s first beauty-tech Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, with an inauguration scheduled for November 2026. This project, while not a formal MoU, marks a substantial milestone in diversifying Telangana’s ecosystem into technology-driven sectors.
The cumulative effect of these MOUs and investment commitments at the World Economic Forum highlights Telangana’s multi-sectoral growth strategy, encompassing areas such as AI, steel manufacturing, clean energy, and sustainable urban development. These agreements reflect the state’s balanced approach, combining industrial expansion with digital innovation and human capital development.
By forging high-impact partnerships rather than merely transactional investments, Telangana is positioning itself as a strategic partner for global enterprises. This approach enhances the credibility and global resonance of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, setting a solid foundation for future economic growth.
