PM Modi Declares Union Budget 2026-27 a Historic Opportunity
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Union Budget for 2026-27 as a “historic” document that embodies the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Modi expressed that the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians extend beyond mere economic growth. He declared, “We want to become the world’s third-largest economy as soon as possible. This is the resolve of millions of countrymen.” The Prime Minister believes the budget not only strengthens India’s future but also enhances its global standing.
Fiscal Responsibility and Support for MSMEs
The budget reflects a vision of governance based on trust and a human-centric economic framework. Modi highlighted its focus on reducing the fiscal deficit and controlling inflation while ensuring significant capital expenditure contributes to robust economic growth. He also pointed out that the support allocated to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in this budget will empower them to expand from local markets to global platforms.
