PM Modi Criticizes Congress While Launching Major Projects in Rajasthan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, on October 7, 2023, where he launched projects valued at ₹1,22,100 crore. During his speech, he criticized the Congress Party for failing to meet basic needs such as electricity, accusing them of keeping the country “in darkness.” He emphasized the achievements of his government, particularly in electrifying rural areas.
Modi highlighted that the BJP government has provided free electricity connections to 2.5 crore households, effectively ending significant power shortages that had plagued the nation for decades. He pointed to the introduction of the ₹42,000 crore Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project as a critical step towards ensuring a clean and reliable power supply for the region.
Infrastructure and Transportation Developments
In addition to the power project, the Prime Minister also inaugurated three Vande Bharat Express trains, aiming to enhance transportation within Rajasthan. These developments are part of a broader strategy to improve infrastructure and spur economic growth in the state. Modi asserted that the BJP’s “double-engine model” of governance is fostering new development in Rajasthan, contrasting it with Congress’s history of corruption and mismanagement.
He took the opportunity to address various issues, including allegations of corruption and scandals involving paper leaks, as well as concerns regarding crimes against women. Modi’s remarks were aimed at positioning the BJP as a proactive force for change, countering the narrative established by the Congress Party.
As part of his ongoing campaign to bolster the BJP’s presence in Rajasthan, Modi’s visit is seen as a significant push ahead of upcoming elections. His focus on infrastructure, energy, and safety resonates with voters concerned about economic stability and quality of life in their communities.
The launch of these initiatives is expected to have a substantial impact on the region, potentially improving living conditions and boosting local economies. The Prime Minister’s statements underscore a commitment to transparency and progress, setting the stage for further political discourse in the lead-up to the elections.
