The “Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet” at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition has successfully attracted 53 international buyers from 23 countries. This event, hosted in Hall No. 1, serves as a platform for global buyers to connect with over 1,800 manufacturers from various sectors in India. According to Suvidh Shah, Additional Director General of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), this meet is a significant opportunity for local manufacturers to expand their reach and sell products internationally.

Organised by the Government of Gujarat, in collaboration with several key organisations, the meet showcases sectors such as handloom, handicraft, textiles, agri-food, engineering, and gems and jewellery. Participating entities include iNDEXTb, the Industries Commissioner, and the Gujarat Jewellery Promotion and Export Promotion Council (GJPEPC). The diverse array of industries represented indicates the event’s broad appeal and potential for economic growth.

Numerous meetings have taken place during the meet, with over 2,200 interactions recorded between buyers and sellers. More than 1,000 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) have been signed within just two days, generating professional export demand estimated at approximately Rs. 500 crore. This financial impact highlights the meet’s effectiveness in fostering international trade relations.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the mining sector with seminars themed “Igniting the Future: Gujarat Mining Revolution.” These sessions, organised by the State’s Geology and Mining Department, were well-attended by industrial entrepreneurs eager to discuss advancements and opportunities within the sector.

In addition to the seminars, significant investment MoUs were secured during the event. Notably, an MoU valued at Rs. 100 crore was signed by L&S Company of Kalyanpur taluka, which is expected to create around 100 job opportunities. Another MoU worth Rs. 60 crore was established by Virendrasinh Savariya from Talaja in Bhavnagar district, projected to generate approximately 75 jobs.

The success of the Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet underscores the potential of Gujarat as a hub for international trade, showcasing the state’s commitment to enhancing business opportunities for local manufacturers while attracting global investment.
